Guro Fernando Navarro

Fernando began his Escrima training in 1990, when his friend and Bahala Na graduate Jamie Lagang took him to meet Leo Giron. After an interview with Leo, Fernando saw the advance students and graduates hitting, blocking and practicing hard. Once and a while, Leo would step in to correct the students or give them advise on various techniques or situations.

This real life situational training encouraged Fernando to want to progress to the level of those he watched. At that time, he trained with Head Instructor Dexter Labonog, class instructors June Gotico, Glenn Abrescy, Roy Atay and Dave Palar. With the help of the teachers and graduate students, Fernando graduated on April 4th 1993 under GrandMaster Leo Giron.

Fernando has fought in various tournaments and was a member of the original Bahala Na fight team and Demo Team. He received his instructorship on October 2, 2010 under Maestro Dexter Labonog. Fernando is an instructor at the Stockton Bahala Na Multi-style school headed by Chief Instructor June Gotico and at the Sacramento Bahala Na Multi-style school headed by Maestro Dexter Labonog.
